Neighbour engagement re odour and noise

AkzoNobel Pty Limited, located in Sunshine North, manufactures paint and coating brands such as Taubmans and Courtaulds. It is part of the global AkzoNobel group, which is headquartered in Amsterdam.

In January-August 2021, Jen assisted AkzoNobel to plan and implement a Community Engagement Strategy, in response to local community concern about odour and noise impacts. The project included the independent facilitation of three online community forums to hear community concerns and communicate AkzoNobel’s plans and progress to mitigate the issues. Comprehensive meeting notes followed each forum, and Jen issued regular updates about progress between the meetings.

This work involved working with AkzoNobel staff on 3 continents, EPA Victoria, and consultation/liaison with committee members of a local community action group.
