Jen was engaged by City of Greater Geelong to undertake community and stakeholder engagement regarding the following exciting projects for Geelong’s CBD:

The Green Spine project is transforming central Geelong’s Malop Street into a vibrant street and linear park, connecting Johnstone Park to Eastern Park. The project will include a ‘botanic walk’ along the length of the street, resulting in an attractive and inviting space: a City in a Park.
Three stakeholder/community workshops and a community survey were undertaken during mid-2016, involving Outlines Landscape Architecture who were concept designers. The project won the Civic Landscape category of the 2019 Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture National Awards.

The Laneways Project invigorated and activated a section of Little Malop Street and its associated lanes through improved paving, lighting, street furniture and art. Workshops were facilitated by Jen during mid-late 2016 to enable traders, community members and other stakeholders to inform the design.
The design component of the project was undertaken by Outlines Landscape Architects, for which it won a Victorian Landscape Architecture Award.

Community members were also invited to attend workshops (facilitated by Jen) or make submissions during late 2016 about the proposed upgrade of the historic Johnstone Park. The project included a ‘Raingarden’, which is a demonstration project involving stormwater retention, treatment and use.

Angela Hawdon and Sally Chandler-Ford assisted Jen in collating and reporting on feedback received through workshops, surveys, submissions and online contributions for these projects.
